NYCxDESIGN (NYC by Design) will be returning to the city for its second year this May with hundreds of shows, events and workshops celebrating design from all around the five boroughs. The 12-day soirée will take place at multiple locations in NYC from May 9th through May 20th, highlighting locally-made products, art, crafts, clothing, graphics, furniture and even buildings. The initiative, along with the Built/NYC program that was launched after the success of last year’s NYCxDESIGN, is aimed towards supporting New York City-based designers and growing the local economy.
NYCxDESIGN 2013 featured 350 events at 190 different venues across the city, and this year’s calendar is already packed with talks, showcases, product launches, open studios and tours(many of which are free). art + design new york, BKLYN DESIGNS, Collective 2 Design Fair, Frieze New York, the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF), Sight Unseen OFFSITE and WantedDesign are just a few of the shows that will take part in the 12-day festival.
